Share Bibles Report

What is Share Bibles?
Share Bibles was a project that we started when we served in Thailand. It was a Bible distribution ministry aimed at giving a Bible to every home in our province of Chiang Rai. Due to our own experience of distributing Bibles door to door, we recognized the need for accurate tracking of the distribution. The idea of an app to track Bible distribution was born.
Who built the Share Bibles app?
This story has two main parts.
When we started out on the journey of building an app for mobile devices, we didn’t know anyone with the knowledge and skills to make that happen. God expanded our network of relationships and a team of volunteers came together to build the first version of the app. You can watch the video here: https://youtu.be/p4mRMnjPtkA

After the initial app was made and put into use, the volunteer team disbanded, and each one went on to other things. The need to maintain the app fell into Rob’s hands. With encouragement from the main builder of the volunteer team, Rob took on the challenge of learning how to build apps using code. After thousands of hours of learning and practice, Rob was able to create the current version of the Share Bibles app on his own. Here’s a video of how it works: https://youtu.be/buH7ivcoYjg

2022 was a fruitful year for tracking Bible distribution. There are some interesting statistics below, as well as some powerful testimonies…
Statistics
Only 5.15% of homes offered a Bible rejected it!
Bible distribution was recorded in 21 different countries this year!

57,076 Bibles
…were freely given to individuals and families around the world!
Testimonies
In 2021 Rob introduced a new feature in the Share Bibles app: testimony recording. The people on the field distributing Bibles can record testimonies of what is God is doing around the world. Here are just a few of the many works of God…
Papua New Guinea (PNG)

YWAM Madang has been doing Bible distribution in many villages of PNG. This photo is when they gave 30 SD cards with the Bible & the Jesus film in their mother tongue to a community of people from East Sepik province, located in the community of Ulifum, Madang.

Over 100 SD cards were passed out at City Mission in Madang. City Mission is a ministry focused on helping and discipling youth that come from troubled and dysfunctional backgrounds. All the boys were extremely happy to receive their SD card with the Bible & the Jesus film in their own language!
Colombia

YWAM Colombia and the local church around the nation have collaborated together to distribute a Bible to every home in the nation.

This partnership has led to so much more than just Bible distribution. Many are receiving Jesus as Savior and Lord, God is healing the sick, and churches are being planted. One team established a church in the Guabánal municipality of Palmira. It’s the only church in the entire municipality!
Guinea-Bissau

YWAM in Guinea-Bissau has been working together with the churches in their nation to distribute a Bible to every home. They have distributed thousands already, especially among the islands off the coast.

Help move this project forward
The Share Bibles app has been helpful for many Bible distribution initiatives around the world. In 2023, more ministries are joining, and more Bibles are being tracked.

Prayer Requests
- Kingdom expansion as Bibles are distributed:
The Bible describes what happens as the word of God goes forth…
“The Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.” (Mark 16:20b) - Bible distribution ministries to multiply:
Jefferson, who leads YWAM in Guinea-Bissau, is already serving 5 other countries around them, helping them to start their own Bible distribution ministries in West Africa. Pray that they would own the vision, get provision, and accomplish distribution.
People are open to the Bible in this generation. We need to see more people rise up and take the challenge of distributing Bibles to everyone on earth. - Volunteers to build the Share Bibles App:
There are more and more features that are being requested. We can still build much more. We need more volunteers to jump into the project and see it serve even more. - Finances for expansion:
There’s much more that we can do for reporting and live data. The facilitators are asking for it, and we’re hoping to give that to them. This comes with the costs of databases. We’d like to see regular supporters jump on board so that we can continue to expand the services offered to the facilitators of Bible distribution around the world. You could donate by clicking here.
