Rob and Cy's update — SBS begins

Greetings to all, Cy and I have been pretty busy over these last couple of months. It has been good though, because we are finally getting into the things that we originally came to Thailand for.

The School of Biblical Studies (SBS) is starting in a week and we’re really excited about it. We’ll have students from all over the world including Australia, USA, Canada, Thailand and Bhutan. The staff of this school is also from all over the world. There is an American guy, a Swedish family and of course Cy who is from Venezuela. It’s an little expression of Revelation 7:9 which says, “…Behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands…” God is a God of the nations and we are pleased to see how God is bringing the nations to Thailand to know Him more and make Him known in Thailand and beyond our borders. The last couple of months have been focused on training the staff to be leaders in the SBS. We’ve learned about ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses and how we can be useful in this expression of the body of Christ. We’ve learned the methods of study and ways in which we can teach and disciple the students. God has reminded us of some core values that we must purposefully live out in our daily lives and how we can pass those biblical values on to those around us. God has done a lot and has brought about change in each one of our lives. We as a family are also doing fine. We’re dreaming of what our long-term living plans are going to be. The YWAM Base, where we work, is a little ways down the main road from where we live. We really want to build a community there that can express the love of Christ through the way we live with each other. It’s hard for Cy and I because we don’t live that close to the base and so we can’t really interact with everyone apart from working hours. We’re seeking a solution to that by looking if there are places in the village around the base where we could live. In the midst of this search we’re trying to figure out what would be the best for the long-term. Please pray that God would guide us in His perfect plans and lead us to the place of greatest fruitfulness.

Thank you to everyone who is praying for us. You can pray for a few things: Health – Cy is having problems with her knee The SBS – pray for people to know God and that what they learn will compel them to put it into practice Rob – He’s leading the base and he has a lot of responsibility and work that needs to be done to care for everyone and everything Future living plans – pray that God will show us how to live in closer proximity to the base and be more involved with the YWAM community and the surrounding village there We pray God’s richest blessings on you all and hope that the Holy Spirit is revealing the truth to each one of you daily, bringing you to a greater knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, causing greater fruitfulness for the expansion of His kingdom.

With a lot of love, Rob and Cy Wiebe
