Rob & Elias will be in Abbotsford!
Greetings!
A lot has happened since our last update. We had a wonderful holiday season, sharing the joys of celebration with family and friends. Elias and I, Rob, made a short trip to Canada to spend some time at Christmas with family.
Elias and I are making another trip to Canada February 21-March 4. I’ll be running a seminar at South Abbotsford Church called “Engaging God through His Word” February 24-26 in the evenings. Here’s a short video I made about that upcoming seminar:

Over the past few months there have been a few significant things happening in the Ending Bible Poverty Now movement and our direct involvement in that:

Mongolia
:The local church in Mongolia has a vision of distributing a Bible to every home in their nation (approx. 600,000 homes) in the summer of 2019. The leadership is currently considering printing Mongolian SourceView Bibles for their distribution. We’re also preparing the Share Bibles app to be available in the Mongolian language to equip the local church to track the distribution of Bibles in their nation for two main purposes: to know whether the goal was accomplished or not and to know where follow-up can be done. We’re excited to partner with this initiative to End Bible Poverty Now in Mongolia.

The Pacific Islands:
The Pacific Wa’a Partnership convened together in Kona, Hawaii this past month. I, Rob, was invited to attend and to present the Share Bibles App to the members of this partnership with the hopes that they would use the tool to track Bible distribution happening in the Pacific Islands. Members of this partnership include: Jesus Film, Wycliffe Global Alliance, Faith Comes By Hearing, Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association, The Seed Company, SIL, YWAM and many others. It’s amazing to see how the body of Christ is uniting to fulfill God’s heart in the Pacific Islands (and around the world).

Papua New Guinea (PNG)
:
After the Pacific Wa’a Partnership meetings, a gathering of YWAM leaders who have a focus on PNG met to strategize how to End Bible Poverty Now in that nation. It’s the nation with the highest number of un-engaged Bible-less languages (languages without a translation of the Bible and nobody working on translating for them). It was interesting to see how our development work of the SourceView Bible can impact Bible translation in this nation and others. The SourceView Bible will also be an integrated part of the Inspired Bible Exhibit (a world-class touring exhibit of the Bible). -
Bougainville 2019-2020:
Bougainvilleans are to vote in June this year to decide whether to remain part of Papua New Guinean or to be independent. The local autonomous government in Bougainville has directly requested YWAM to provide 100,000 Bibles to be distributed to the people in that region so that the Word of God becomes the foundation of the new nation. Again, the Share Bibles App seems to be a tool that people want to use to track Bible distribution all over the world. -

Thai young people reading the Thai SourceView Bible in community “At one Christmas outreach event, university students were given their free Thai SourceView Bible and then invited to sit down and practice reading it by color immediately. As they read and discussed with local believers and YWAM staff who facilitated the groups, the Spirit moved in their hearts. 21 of them chose to believe in Jesus right then and there! They were immediately connected with local churches so each one could be followed up on.” – Matt Thompson (Share Bibles Thailand)
Home Life
Cy and Elias have been faithfully going through the 3rd grade of homeschooling.
“Geography, History and Science are my favorite subjects. I like having a recess break with the other homeschooling kids in my neighborhood. My mom is a really good teacher; strict, but good.” – Elias
