A picture/video update

Dear Friends and Partners,

Ending Bible Poverty Now (EBPN) is a never ending job for all of God’s people and we’re privileged to continue this journey with Jesus to see His vision completed. This time we’re going to walk through some pictures as a main update, including some testimonies/videos for you to see God at work.

When we follow God’s command to go and disciple the nations, teaching them to obey (Matthew 28:19-20), we don’t just give information. We seek to help them engage with God through the Scriptures, getting to know Him more and learning his heart so that we might follow Jesus in His mission.

In this season the students in the local School of Biblical Studies have completed the Old Testament and re-encountered Jesus in the New Testament. They will be graduating soon!

In this season the students in the local School of Biblical Studies have completed the Old Testament and re-encountered Jesus in the New Testament. They will be graduating soon!

Our SBS students worked on a project throughout the Old Testament and then displayed their discoveries of God’s nature and character in a creative format. Some wrote poems, others stitched, others developed tattoos for each book of the Bible, and others wrote songs. It was an artistic expression of the revelation of God in our school. SO BEAUTIFUL!

Throughout the school we’ve been intentional to build relationships with the students outside the classroom. Here are a couple of brunch pictures.

Rob went to YWAM Lausanne in Switzerland 🇨🇭 to teach in the Discipleship Bible School (DBS), do some staff training and preach in a community meeting.

Below is a dinner with the staff. Sorry, we forgot to take pictures of the classroom this time.

Rob took the opportunity to make a quick trip to Strasbourg where his former leaders from YWAM Pichilemu, Chile 🇨🇱 were living, pioneering a YWAM location in France 🇫🇷. This is Pedro & Francisca and their son Daniel. Daniel was 3 years old when Rob served with them in Chile 🇨🇱.

YWAM staff from the Americas, ranging from Canada 🇨🇦 to Argentina 🇦🇷, gathered in Panama 🇵🇦 for a conference. 800+ YWAMers sought God together through worship, prayer, sharing and spending time together. It was encouraging and important!

We took the opportunity to gather with course and ministry leaders that are working with Bible schools and EBPN. It was so encouraging to hear their stories of how God is moving all across the world!

This woman above (Joy) is the leader of YWAM Bolivar in Venezuela 🇻🇪. She was sharing about the hunger there is for Bible in that nation. She urged us strongly to go and help her by visiting, teaching, encouraging and giving ourselves to serve Venezuela! We could hear the whisper of God in that invitation and we’re seeing how we might respond.
Is now the time to invest in Cy’s homeland?

[As I write this, news of earthquakes in Venezuela 🇻🇪 is reaching us. Please pray for this nation! God can use these things to turn hearts and transform societies.]

We also found time to get together as a Builders Team of the College of Bible Engagement during the event in Panama 🇵🇦.

Elias met old friends from the nations and made plenty of new friends! Multicultural missionary kids (MK) are the best!

Our YWAM Dunham, Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦 team represented the French language at the conference by leading worship bilingually.

These new friends are amazing! They belong to a tribe in the Amazon of Brazil 🇧🇷. They are working on translating the Bible into their mother tongue. One of them joined the project before becoming a Christian and met God through working on the translation of the book of Ruth! (What?!) They are so excited to translate the Scriptures into their language.

As a family we pray every night for Bible translation into languages that do not yet have any Scripture. This was an opportunity to meet some of our heroes in this mission.

Part of the gathering in Panama 🇵🇦 was a graduation in the University of the Nations. Rob, as the dean of the College of Bible Engagement, had the privilege of giving certificates to several graduates with degrees in Biblical Studies.

It was special to share one of our many trips with our YWAM Dunham leaders and staff. We decided to find a time to enjoy Panamanian food together.

Can’t go to Panama without visiting the Canal! That was a special morning.

After our trip to Panama 🇵🇦 we stopped by Mexico 🇲🇽 to teach a week in the YWAM Ensenada Discipleship Bible School (DBS). It was great to meet the leaders, staff and students there, developing the relationships to continue building the college.

FUN FACT: In 2021 we crossed the USA 🇺🇸 - Canada 🇨🇦 border walking by land. This trip we crossed the USA 🇺🇸 - Mexico 🇲🇽 border walking by land. I can’t imagine there are many people in the world that have walked, crossing both the northern and southern USA 🇺🇸 borders!

YWAM Niagara is a young YWAM pioneering location about 8 hours from where we live in Quebec. They are running a Bible school where we taught Deuteronomy. We’ve taught in many different kinds of classrooms. This was the first time teaching in a garage-become-classroom. It was a great experience.
