November 2011
Greetings!
Here is an update of how different things have been going over the last few months.
FAMILY
Elias is now 13 months old. He’s walking/running all over the place now. He’s a very active little boy, smiling at every single person he meets. We have yet to find someone he doesn’t like. He’s also starting to talk baby gibberish, which is fun. We’re anxious to see which language he uses first: Spanish, English or Thai.
We are doing well too. We’re very tired from the last few months of work, both teaching and hosting the international event. Rob had a week of bowel infections that were painful, but he’s feeling better again. However, now we are back to our normal pace, training young people from all over the world so that they would be ready for the good works that God prepared for them to walk in.
TEACHING
August, September and October were busy months of teaching. Rob taught one week in Chiang Rai, one week in Bangkok and one week in the Philippines. The topic was Spiritual Warfare in all three places. Praise God for the impartation of understanding and the freedom of Christ.
DNA INFUSION
We had the wonderful opportunity to host a two-week international YWAM event called “DNA Infusion” which was led by the founders of YWAM (Youth With A Mission), Loren and Darlene Cunningham. It was a two week event aimed at passing on the things of our founders to the next generation. There were people from 28 different nations and 40 different languages represented. We had wonderful times of teaching, worship, intercession for the nations and fellowship. We were very encouraged and built up through this event. There’s a great video and written summary of all that has happened during this event. Click on the links in the past sentence to see those or visit the YWAM Chiang Rai Base facebook page.
SBS
Almost all of the staff have arrived for the SBS. We currently have 3 new staff, and possibly another on the way, coming from USA, Philippines, Vietnam and Korea. There are currently 5 students applying to come. Staff training has already started and will continue until the beginning of the school: January 2012.
HOUSING PROJECT
The first level of the house is almost complete. We received donations which covered what was lacking of the first floor and we just moved in. We’re very excited to see how God has provided for the building project to start and continue without stopping because the funds always come in just in time. We’re continuing to trust God for the next steps as well.
PRAYER REQUESTS
- Health
- Finances (we still need to see an increase in our monthly support by a few hundred dollars)
- Wisdom to lead a missionary training base with people from many different nations and cultures
- Personal growth in our relationships with Jesus (Can never get enough of that!)
