New Year, New Things
Greetings!
This year has been full of new things, which I think many of us were hoping for after the challenges of 2020. Here are some new things that we have been able to participate in…
Executive Masters Degree in Global Pioneering Leadership

This January Rob began a masters degree with the University of the Nations. It’s a degree that he’s able to participate in while in the midst of full-time ministry. The degree centers around Leadership, Pioneering/Innovation and the global context. All of those things are part of who God has created Rob to be, so it’s the perfect fit in this season. It will last for 2 years. The total cost of this master’s degree is $15,000 USD, including all the course costs and the travel to 5 different locations around the globe for intensive studies. If you’d like to partner with us in seeing these expenses covered, we welcome your contribution in our own equipping for greater fruitfulness in our work in the kingdom of God.
New Languages
Rob has continued to develop the Share Bibles App, now in the beta testing stage of implementing the app being translated into multiple languages. The current list of languages available…

This will facilitate the multiplication of usage around the world as well, which is really exciting.
Another update on languages is that of the SourceView Bible. This year we began work on Dutch, Danish and Russian. We’re also looking to expand the “smaller” languages as well, meeting with Bible Societies and other groups to get their versions into the SourceView Bible format. Please pray for key languages to be developed so that it can be multiplied.
Cakes made with love
Over the past few months Cy has been using one of the many gifts she has to bless others in a special way: making cakes. She’s made a wedding cake, baby shower cakes and cakes for other occasions as well. It’s one of the gifts that she has and she’s using it to love others in this unique way…and the response has been amazing! Here you can see why…

Permanent Residency Approved!
Just recently we received news that Cy’s permanent residency application to Canada has been approved! That’s such a great piece of news for us. We now have to get the appropriate visa into her passport and make a trip to Canada in the coming months to make that status official for her. We don’t yet have details on when that will happen, but we’ll keep you posted.
Thanks to SO MANY of you who have been praying for this. We are so excited about having this status within reach. Cy’s Venezuelan passport expired at the beginning of February and, while we have valid status in the U.S. for the next 2+ years, having a permanent resident status in Canada gives us long-term options.
Reading the Bible with Christ’s body (our friends & family)
Since January we have been reading through the Bible using the tool that Rob has developed online: the SourceView Bible. So far we have read the Bible with friends and family in Canada
, USA
, Thailand
, Chile
, Venezuela
, France
, and Switzerland
. If you’d like to read with us, we’d LOVE to do that. Please let us know.
Prayer Requests:
- Wisdom: Travel plans often have many implications for family, finances and work. We want to know God’s wisdom as we consider when we can/should travel to Canada and the details surrounding that.
- Rob’s work: Rob has multiple projects that he’s working on to serve the vision of Ending Bible Poverty Now in our generation. There are different challenges that he faces in terms of technology that need to be resolved. Pray for God’s insight and empowering to continue to build features into the tools that serve God’s purposes. God has done this many times before and will continue to do so as we keep inviting him into these processes.
- Learning: Rob’s master degree is something that we believe can truly help him take the next step in leadership growth and fruitfulness. He deeply desires to grow and learn and we ask prayer for this too.
- Homeschool: Pray that God’s timing for Elias to finish this year of homeschool will occur. Travel often complicates these details and we want to see Elias’ education enhanced, not hindered by it.
- Bible Reading: Please pray that our Bible reading times with friends around the globe would be just as encouraging and life-giving for others as it is for us and that God would lead us to read the right passages with the right people at the right time. He continues to surprise us with his faithfulness in this.
