The Wiebe Clan Update — March 2011

March 2011 Wiebe Clan update — trip to Malaysia

Our trip to Malaysia

We traveled from Chiang Rai to Chon Buri, Thailand, to meet the South Abbotsford Church (SAC) missions team for fellowship and mutual encouragement. Then we went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a week of embassy work for Cy's new passport and visa—combining administrative needs with ministry and family time (walks, meals, swimming).

While there we visited our two DTS outreach teams in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

Visiting the teams — Jesus, Hope of the Nations

We joined up with another group in Kuala Lumpur and traveled into nearby jungle villages among tribal people who live simple lives gathering food from the jungle and traditionally fear jungle spirits.

We worked with a pastor originally from a "head-hunting tribe" who has seen about 50% of his village come to Christ. We met a man who was formerly a witch-doctor and now testifies to the power of Jesus. We spent a night in a jungle village and helped with construction and painting of a new Bible College building for the local tribe.

What God is doing

  1. Students are learning to practically live as disciples of Jesus day by day
  2. People are hearing the gospel across China, Malaysia & Thailand
  3. Christians in those countries are being encouraged and blessed
  4. Healings and miracles
  5. God is glorified in the nations
