Greetings from Thailand

Greetings from Thailand, This delayed update has some really great stuff in it so be prepared for surprises.

I, Rob, went to Vietnam to teach in the “underground” Discipleship Training School that they have there. It was an amazing experience. Christians are persecuted in Vietnam and I had to do a lot of things carefully. I was taken to the house where the Vietnamese Christians met. We all sat on the floor in a small room and I taught about how they can study the Bible. I would spend the mornings teaching until lunch, then I would take another 3 hours in the afternoon to teach.

We had a lot of fun together. God really revealed a lot of things to their hearts and mind as well as my own. One of the hardest things was being away from Cy for a whole week. But we made it and we’re together again. There weren’t any problems except that a police almost caught me going into the house. Luckily he was blinded “somehow”.

Upon arrival back in Thailand Cy and I were greeted by a couple that was moving back to Australia. They said that they wanted to talk to us about something. We weren’t sure what they were going to say and thought that maybe we had done something wrong for which to ask forgiveness for. Once alone they said that God had spoken to them about giving their car to us for free! Can you imagine that? We remember giving the laptop and Ipod away in Germany thinking that it was a lot and here we arrive home to receive a car! You can’t out-give God, can you? The amazing thing was when we were in Germany God spoke to Cy about a car and then a few weeks later it was given to us. Cool eh?

Another huge blessing over these weeks has been donations of so many kinds from different unexpected places.

We had nothing to start the SBS with, not even a four-walled classroom. Now, God has provided for 15 desks, 15 chairs, 25 different books that teachers and staff will need for studying, 24 Bibles for the students when they arrive AND next week we start building up that last wall to enclose the classroom. God is so GOOD! We’re still trusting in God for a good, big white board and an LCD projector, but we know that God knows what we need even before asking Him for it.

One more thing so that you all know how great God is. We have received all of the funds needed to start the foundation that we need for long-term visas. We have contacted the lawyers and received the paperwork needed to start creating this foundation. Right now we are at the stage where we are setting the by-laws in place for the long-term. We are very careful how we write these things as they can’t be changed later. Please pray for us to have wisdom to make something that works for now, but also for 30 years down the road.

We just wanted to share with you the amazing blessings that God has given us and that He has once again shown Himself bigger than how we knew Him before. I love getting to know the same things about God, just in bigger ways through real life experiences. We are healthy and excited to finally start the SBS, the original reason why we came to Thailand.

May God be glorified in all that happens here.

Blessings, Rob and Cy Wiebe
