First 2009 update
Hey everyone, We've arrived in Thailand safely without any real problems. Our luggage got mixed up along the way, but we received it before having to fly up to Chiang Rai. We arrived in Bangkok at about 11pm and were discussing whether to go to spend the night in a hotel or to just tough it out and stay in the airport until our 2pm flight the following day. we chose to try to tough it out. Let's just say that we'll never do that again. Cy ended up staying awake for about 48 hours as we made our way from Canada to our home in Chiang Rai Thailand. She slept for almost 14 hours straight once we arrived at home. We got a dog at the beginning of October 2008. He's a yellow lab. His name is Macho. He's a great addition to our family. Anyways, he had gotten a lot bigger by the time we returned from Canada. Now he's about 50 lbs and he's not even 5 months old. We hope that he gets to be as big as possible. He's a lot of fun.
We've been catching up with the leadership here and working through some changes as we start new programs of discipleship this year. We're happy to be here where God is doing amazing things. As difficult as it may be, the best place to be is in the center of His perfect, good, pleasing will.
We love serving God and following Him in everyday life.
Prayer needs
Please pray for our Thai language acquisition. We will be studying until the end of July. We're definitely farther than when we started, but we feel that there is still so much more that we need to learn.
Please pray for the SBS that will be starting in September.
We've accepted 4 students already with another 3 prospective students.
We've also bought the much needed printer for the school already. Little by little we're getting closer to being equiped for the school. There is also a Thai who doesn't have the finances to do the school. We're praying that God would somehow provide for her to study the entire Bible. Your prayers for her would be great as well.
We thank you all for understanding our needs for the visas and supporting our journey to Canada and back for them. We'll be able to be in Thailand for another year now. God bless you all, Rob and Cy
