Video or written update — April 2010

Hey Everyone,

Happy New Year! Are we a little off? No, it's the Thai New Year that has just begun. We commenced this year with the annual nation-wide water fight and we have enjoyed it immensely. When everyone is doing it and it's 40°C outside, getting wet doesn't sound so bad. We needed to relax our bodies and minds after long months of working, but we are now recharged and ready to go again.

The SBS finished its second of three terms right before the break. It started up again and will continue until July 10th. We are finishing the prophets, the wisdom books, and the last few historical books. We have five students now. Three of them are going on outreach to Cameroon and Ethiopia, as God commanded us. Cy and her staff are extremely busy with so many books to teach in such a short period of time—please pray for them.

The base is running smoothly. We have the habit of going out every Friday afternoon to do evangelism in the local markets. A couple of the people that we talked with accepted Christ. We went back the following week to give one a Bible and teach her about the gospel in greater detail.

Cy is currently 19 weeks pregnant (almost halfway there) and things are coming along just fine. Please pray for healing and protection—muscle tendons in one of her knees have acted up. Hopefully next month we can discover whether the baby will be a boy or a girl.

Funds for the house on the base are coming in little by little—about $7,500 toward the $75,000 goal. We have not allowed this slow start to delay our obedience to God calling us to move on base. We will be moving into a small space on the base where we will share a room with our baby. Please pray for the move and the adjustments. Our plans are to move either next month or June.

God is really showing us some amazing things about His character and His sovereignty over all things everywhere. He is truly awesome and we consider it a great privilege to do what we are doing with Him.
