Distribution
One of the main things that we have been working on has been the giant project of Share Bibles. God has opened doors and pushed us further than we think we’re ready for, but it has been fun to walk with God in all these things. So far this year we have been able to distribute Bibles to 7 complete villages. This month 2 more villages will be filled with God’s word. Here are some pictures of our Bible Distribution.

Last month we went to the regional conference for YWAM in the province of Sukhothai. It was a time of encouragement. Outreach to the people of Sukhothai was built into the conference and Bible Distribution was one of the activities to do. About 50% of the conference attendees showed up to give our Bibles. In total we gave out 384 Bibles in the hotel we stayed at and in the surrounding villages. My highlight was hearing about how one team gave Bibles to monks in a Buddhist temple and then later another team walked by and saw them all reading them together.

Working to reach the unreached
One of the things that we come across regularly is meeting people who can’t read. The reasons are either because of health or lack of education. Putting a Bible into their hands (asking for their family members to read it to them) is not as joyful knowing that there is little chance that they are going to experience the word of God.
Recently a missions agency contacted us about making the version and format that we use into an audio Bible. After sharing our vision and their ways to partner we discovered that we could make a fully dramatized audio Bible of the New Testament to accompany our printed Bibles. This missions agency offered to make a major financial contribution and to organize the efforts to accomplish the task. God-willing we will have an audio Bible ready to share with the people that we distribute Bibles to.

Many of you will remember that in 2014 and 2015 we went to Kona, Hawaii to work on some Bible projects with Mr. David Hamilton. We talked about an app that was going to be very useful for Bible engagement. Well, it’s finally here! Click on the pictures to download it.

There were three main areas that we worked on during our time in Kona:
1. Sphere of Religion: we were 2 of about 10 people around the world that provided the highlights for the sphere of religion in the app.

2. Recipients: we were 2 of 4 people to observe through the whole Bible who the sources were speaking to.

3. Sphere of Family: Rob was the final editor for the sphere of Family, finalizing the highlights of others and helping to compile the 52 key passages in the Bible regarding the family sphere.

IMPORTANT: God willing, we will be able to get this app into the Thai language as well. Pray that we can start this year before Christmas!

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • HEALTH: Recently all three of us got sick or injured. This has been a recurring theme ever since we started the Bible Distribution vision. While we expect spiritual warfare and attacks from our enemy to stop us or slow us down, we can also expect victory over all things. Please pray mainly for Cy because she is the one who is affected most frequently.
  • WISDOM: As we continue to walk along the journey of following God, we continually seek His wisdom to accomplish His goals. When we take our eyes off of him we get lost or, even worse, start to aim for our goals instead of His. Pray that we would have the wisdom that starts with the fear of the LORD.
  • JOY: One of the promises of scripture is that we would rejoice in the Lord, whether we have much or not, whether we are weak or strong, because our joy doesn’t come from a circumstances, but from a relationship with Jesus…who never changes. We want to live lives of joy in all things.
  • FAITH: The things that God is leading us into are WAY too big for us to do in our human strength. We ask for God to continually increase our faith. Please pray for us in that as well.
  • LOVE: We can always grow in love. Please pray for us to walk in love with our family, friends, neighbors.
  • WEBSITE: We’re currently working on making our website (www.sharebibles.com) ready for the whole nation to participate. There is one key piece of information that we are lacking and we ask that you would pray that the government would release it to us.
